BIO

The band was formed in June, 2010 in San Diego, California when 4 friends - Jesse Pryor (gtr/vox), Will A Lerner (keys/vox/percussion), Kevin “Cuz” Donahue (bass), Fonda (drums/backing vox/Theremin)- found they shared a common love for vintage organs, hollow body guitars, Theremins, cool ties and a red sparkle drum kit. They’ve created a live show that’s a true rock revival, salvation firmly delivered through a relentless wall of sound on a sweat-filled dancefloor. It’s uplifting and unnerving at the same time, and it sure gets the audience dancing. With Cuz’s departure, SBU features John Falk on bass and backing vocals.

Shake Before Us has shared the stage with some great rock n roll bands, including the Hives (two sold-out So Cal shows, Feb. 2013), King Khan and the Shrines, Living Colour, Supersuckers, The Blasters, Holly Golightly, Old Man Markley, Mike Watt, Oblivions, as well as the Ink N Iron Festival 2012.

“Noisy, rocking, trash, garage, mayhem, 60's punk sci-fi dance music.”
That is how guitar player and co-lead vocalist Jesse Pryor from SHAKE BEFORE US describes their debut album produced by John “Swami” Reis (Rocket From The Crypt, Hot Snakes). Recorded live directly to a vintage  8-track reel-to-reel, the album is a perfect snap shot of the band at their best… LIVE.

Their “get buzzed and turn up the fuzz” attitude has yielded true tales of lost faith, booze, drugs, sin and self-doubt. Their songs are a maniacal mix of organ, guitar, dual howling vocals, deep drums and even deeper bass. They pair the past with the future for a sound that is vintage yet modern at the same time.
