The Jayhawks and their Americana-influenced sound first emerged from Minnesota during the mid-1980s. One of the most important bands of the postpunk era in the crowded Twin Cities 1980s music scene, The Jayhawks The January 11th 2015 show at the Belly Up was part of a tour to support the 2014 deluxe reissues of 3 of the band’s albums originally released between 1997 and 2003: “Sound of Lies”, “Smile” and “Rainy Day Music”. This show features a late 90s lineup of band expertly covering every era of The Jayhawks long career with highlights including ''Waiting for the Sun'', “Big Star”, “Blue”, ''Tailspin,'' “Save It For a Rainy Day,” “Take Me With You (When You Go)”, and “Settled Down Like Rain”.
