Seun Kuti is a Nigerian musician, singer and the youngest son of renowned afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti. At the age of nine, Seun started performing with his father’s band Egypt 80, until his father’s death in 1997. Seun, then only 14 years old, took the role as bandleader of Egypt 80 and carried the torch his father lit. He has followed the political and social ethos of his father, and along the way, Seun began to add his own twist to the music, digging deep into various African traditions to reflect the continent’s struggles and cultures. Their 2017 performance is filled with infectious rhythms, irresistible grooves and charged with power - a celebration of freedom and dance.
