The Aggrolites are a ska band on a mission to remind audiences what proper ska sounded like, whether in Kingston in 1963 or in London in 1979. Organist Roger Rivas has stated that a combination of the sounds of 1960s soul music, funk, and early reggae constitutes what the band has dubbed “Dirty Reggae.” Their 2019 performance was in support of their album REGGAE NOW!, the band’s first album in eight years. This album is a continuation of their signature fusion of funky soulful skinhead reggae with organ-based grooves and steady-rockin’ beats as heard on “Pound For Pound,” “Groove Them Move Them” and “Someday.”
